Information about the exams
Class B driver's license theory exam
Before you can take your practical exam, you must first pass your theory exam at the CBR. You can take this exam starting at age 16. You can register for it yourself. During the theory exam, you will be tested on various topics such as hazard perception, situational awareness and traffic rules. These three components ensure that you have mastered the necessary knowledge and can drive safely on the road.
The theory exam currently costs € 34.50. If you’d like to take a dyslexia or test anxiety exam, that’s also possible. You’ll pay a little more for this and receive extra time to take breaks or have questions read aloud.
Interim test for driver's license B
Before your practical exam, you can take an interim test as a test run. This exam will give you a preview of the types of questions asked and the driving requirements. After the test, the examiner will give you some tips to take with you for your actual exam. This way, you can prepare yourself even better for the real exam. In addition, you can also earn an exemption. If you perform the special maneuvers correctly, you won’t have to repeat this part during your practical exam.
Class B driver's license practical exam
The time has come. You’ve passed your written exam and perhaps your special maneuvers as well. You and your instructor think it’s time. You’re ready to take your practical exam! You can also schedule your practical exam through the CBR.
The minimum age to take the practical exam is 17. If you pass your exam at this age, you are required to drive under supervision until you turn 18. After passing, you can apply for and pick up your driver’s license at the Eindhoven municipal office.

You have 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete the 35-minute driving test. This means you can take one or more breaks if you feel your nerves getting the upper hand.
